Having wanted a Gr. Dane for the longest time, We were unable to pass up the
oppurtunity to bring one into our life when rescue became available. Molly was
10 months and turned out abused at her previous residance, causing her to have
been extremtly timid and unsure of nearly every thing. Time, patience, much love
and plenty of cookies, she is now quite the active lil socialite, earning her Canine
Good Citizen, frequenting dog parks and the beach and now paticipating in agility
and coursing. At the GWW X, she hit the landmark age of 11 years old!
Molly caused me to utterly fall in love with the breed. I just had to have another.
After much research and talking to breeders I became enamored with DJ's parents
and were looking forth to the soon to arrive litter. DJ was the last born and
kinda slipped out in the doorway, hence his name DoorJamb.. aka "DJ". Though
he does give the lure course a good effort.. he rather race to the most comfortable place in the shade!
Danes are much like Pringle Potatoe Chips., you can't just have 1 or 2.. so on
January 1st '07, I added a 3rd Dane to my household. Dexter was found roaming
the streets of South L.A and was foster for a month before he joined my pack. At
the time I was watching the TV Show "Dexter" and just seemed to kind of fit him.
As it turns out, Dexter is also a heraldic term! As for coursing, Dex has absolutely
taken to it and just can't get enough.
